New Manager For The Manor House Gosforth

Pam Gould has been appointed manager at The Manor House care home in Gosforth, part of Hadrian Healthcare Group.

Pam began her career as a registered general nurse at Newcastle General Hospital in 1974, and has worked on wards and in operating theatres in the UK and New Zealand. She is also a qualified social worker specialising in older persons’ care and mental health. Before moving into the care home sector Pam was a staff nurse at St Oswald’s Hospice.

Wetherby Manor Opening March 2013

Construction work is nearing completion at Wetherby Manor, the new £6 million Hadrian Healthcare Group residential nursing care home in Wetherby.

Jas Gill, managing director of Hadrian Healthcare Group said: “The development will create 60 jobs and we will open for residents in March 2013.

Christmas Fireworks and Carols at Gosforth Manor House

A special community Christmas celebration has been held at The Manor House, Gosforth (12 December).

Residents, relatives and staff at the care home for elderly people at Brunton Park welcomed members of St Aidan’s Church and other local residents to enjoy fireworks, carols and mulled wine and mince pies.

Investors in People Silver Award for Hadrian Healthcare Group

Hadrian Healthcare Group, which has its head office in Gateshead and eight residential homes providing nursing and dementia care for elderly people across the north of England, has achieved the Investors in People Silver award at the first attempt.

IiP is the recognised standard framework by which businesses and organisations can judge their development and working practices.

Whickham Manor House Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday

Richard Stunt celebrated his 100th birthday with a very special party at The Manor House, Whickham where he now lives, on 17 September.

Mr Stunt was born in north west London and married Doris, who he met at school, in 1939. As a boy he loved gymnastics. He was a captain in the army during the second world war. After the war he was a green grocer and bought and sold property as a sideline. He has been around the world five times and collected police badges from the places he visited. He was also a keen water colour painter.
